I've been following this and while I haven't had the opportunity to meet any one of you fellows in person it is an honor to be among a group of individuals who care so much. I had a high school classmate who was in similar circumstances some years ago. While it was a terrible time for all, there was much good that came from it. We all know in our hearts and minds that life is full of pain and sorrow we also know that from the ashes of that love and comfort can and most certainly will come. God bless each and every one of you and of course we all place "Cookie" at the head of the line for those blessings.

The young man is Spencer, son of Christine's best friend from New Zealand, who is stating with them and going to school here. A cool kid; he and I walked around at the Quail, checking out the bikes, making fun of the announcer, and generally having a good time. I think that Bum took that pic, there wasn't room enough at that tiny table for he and his wife to sit..
It is tough to hear the news about Cookie, but I'm sure that he will meet his last days with the ready wit he is known for, surrounded by the people he loves...who could ask for anything more?
It is funny how friendships can spring up between people; starting with a very funny moment at the train station when we met, Cookie and I entertained each other with a constant flow of stories during that long drive when we picked up his LTD in LA and drove it to his house in one day...a very funny guy...He will be sorely missed...

Ohhh no.
Ohhh no no no

Just found this thread after a long time not being on the forum.

Just can not find the right words to express my sorrow.
Please tell him he's in our thoughts.

Cookie is blessed with a great sense of humour.
I'm quite sure he will appreciate a fitting quote:

Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal
of meeting me is another matter."

To be loved and respected by your family...
To have them by your side in the end...
To know that others are there for you...
To walk to the end of the road without pain or suffering...

No one could ask for more than that.

My thoughts are with you and your family.
