Our Dear Friend Cookie

#1

Post by Whiskerfish »

I am sure some of you have noticed but our "Top Poster" Cookie is not around much these days. In Mid January he was diagnosed with Cancer. In late January he had a large Tumor removed between his bladder and his spine and that involved a lot of plumbing changes. Since then he has started Chemo and has had some pretty significant complications and setbacks and has been in and out of the Hospital several times. The Prognosis is not real encouraging but he is fighting the good fight. He has his Family there and if it comes down to it all of his affairs are in order.

Cookie is a private person and does not wish to burden anyone with his troubles but I think it is time to share this. Communication is spotty at best. Between the treatments and the pain drugs he is not up to posting often but he does occasionally get on to read some of the posts.

I just wanted to let the membership know what was going on and also to let Cookie know that he is in our thoughts.

I wish I had more skill with words. About the best I can come up with are that I wish you Strength and stubbornness and a whole damn truckload of good luck!!

Cookie, my thoughts are with you and your family. I've noticed that you weren't around much and was concerned. Now I understand.

When I joined this site, you were the first person to help me with my questions and welcome me to the NGW. I very much appreciate your help and remember your patience.

I know that everyone on this site is concerned about the challenge that's been set before you. I wish you courage and a positive outlook. Be strong and expect the best.
