Wind shield, GL1100
Whats the best winshield for my GL1100 Standard? I'm looking for comfort, while not sacrificing handling. Thanks

Windshield
I just installed a Plexstar 2 from National Cycles and like it alot. It deflects the wind but gives a good back pressure so you stay cool without being blasted. The quality of the product was very satisfactory. Sturdy hardware and no holes to create stress cracks later. The screen itself is thick enough that it does not move at highway speeds. The wind noise is reduced considerably. I can hear my 1100 purr while going 70 mph down the highway. I have not noticed any handling problems with it, even when around semi's. I don't like to stay there too long so I get by them pretty quick. I rode my naked 1100 for a year before putting on a wind screen. I personally like the ride better with it.

No I don't have any pics of my bike, or a digital camera. I bought her last Sept., my first bike since late 70's. (Kaw KZ400) It's a basic, stock 1100\19000+ miles, with the exception of a preformance manifold kit which enables the use of a Holly 1 barrel carb.(sweet) I have been really dissapointed in my GL's handling, especially in side winds. It's almost Spooky riding in those conditions. I removed the "add on ferring" and installed org. light setup, which helped a lot. I'm 6ft2/280#, and feel this bike should feel like a toy. With only 2000 miles riding on her, maybe I'm just not used to her yet.

welcome DWAG,...as youeself, i had trouble with the handling of my wing. i'm 6' , 315lb and the wing is the only bike i have that seems to fit me. mine is naked with 18"apehanger bars. it'll take a while but eventually you and the bike will "click" and things should be fine. see my bike in the wingmans lounge under big t's beast................later......T.
