I could use help on finding a problem with a 1100 wing. I have a chirp or squeal coming from the small drive pulley for the timing belts. the belts are almost new with 5 or 6 hundred mi. on them. I used stethoscope to locate which pulley the noise was coming from. After removing the radiator and belt covers I started the bike and let it idle, the chirping starts not long after and is not continous. To me the belts seems to bounce around a lot, the tensioners seem to be alright. Hope some can help. THANKS TRAV

from what you describe, the sound could be the tensioner pulley bearings.
they have 2 nuts to secure them on each..
has the nuts gone slack on either?
because the centre pulley(crankshaft end bearing) would be the next item. especially if noise coming from centre..
i would re-check the tensioners,as i feel this is what is making the noise.
the noise could be being transferred by the belts, making it seem elsewhere..........
is the engine oil level ok??
keep us posted+welcome to naked wings..............
safe riding....................all
