Re: GL1100 with GL1200 LTD EFI conversion
And yeah, while dynoing I noticed my exhausts changed color =)
According to the dyno tech this is due to a choke in the tubing that then gets much hotter than the rest of the exhaust.

I would submit that the quality of the exhaust structure is not as good as in the "olden" days.

That reminds me of the Cobra pipes on the Valkyries that would turn colors because they were single walled construction. Just adds to the uniqueness of your bike!

Hehe yeah. However I’m pretty sure these are the original 43year old pipes
Just a bit shorter and the crossover pipe removed. Might be enough to enable this “behavior”

Re: GL1100 with GL1200 LTD EFI conversion
I think there is a chance some of your pipes may be original to when your bike was born, but the tailpipe section certainly is not. I cannot recall exactly what your whole system looked like, but do recall that the rears were unique to your bike.

I also tried to look it up, not sure exactly what the ends are but I’ve seen them on old photos

Re: GL1100 with GL1200 LTD EFI conversion
What do your headers look like? Could be a custom system the whole way?

Re: GL1100 with GL1200 LTD EFI conversion
Look like original Honda exhaust headers that have had new exhaust pipes added, lovely blue sky, riding time!
