I wish you could send some of it over here.

It is 33c here right now and 35% RH.
The crew to tear apart the basement and deal with the mould were delayed until tomorrow. That's probably good because we'll have to turn the air conditioning off while they are working so that the stale air returns don't suck in what they disturb.

We did get some really strong Thunderstorms last evening. Lots of driving rain so the lawn is recovering it's green quickly. Will have to mow on Thursday before we head out Friday. Neighbor has a rider so he will knock down the front lawn while we are gone but the back will be a jungle I expect.

Today was pretty hot. Low 90's with a high humidity so quite miserable. After dog walking and Physical Therapy I spent about 4 hours scrubbing the truck inside and out. Nice and clean for our long days in it.

Tomorrow is a checkup with the Orthopedic surgeon in the Morning then PT again in the afternoon. Also need to hit the post office and put the mail on hold.

The heat warning is expected to end this evening. I turned the air conditioning down a few degrees before bed to cool the place a bit and this morning I turned off the breaker for the HVAC and unplugged the fresh air system in preparation for the mould removal crew. They are downstairs with their big HEPA fans running and I hear power tools.
As of now it is 27c outside and 23c inside and the door between the house and the garage is open for them to go back & forth to bring tools &c in. When the inside temperature exceeds the outside we will open windows to let fresh air in.

The forecast says it will be milder for the next few days so it shouldn't be too bad. Now if I could only remember where I put that big box fan.....

Hi Gord;
My wife's dementia is keeping me busy. I do all the cooking now, and I cannot leave her alone. For example, today she was calling me 'Dad' and thought I was her father, our kids are her brothers and sisters. She is obsessed with sweeping, she sweeps constantly, including our 150' driveway. It is gravel so that keeps her busy.
Ontario Health provides a care giver for 4 hours a day twice a week to give me some 'self time' that I can usually make that riding time. If I can, I can do my small errands on the bike. Just not enough time in the day. Not what I imagined my retirement would be like. But she cared for the family for years, now it is my turn. You know the wedding phrase . . 'in sickness and health . . " , that's my life.
Best Regards and thanks;
Mike Coleman

Been absolutely gorgeous here on the OregUn coast. Weatherman showing 95 and 100 degree temps all inland and low 70's on the coast. I could live here in a minute but don't ever tell Rusty!!

It finally rained!!!!! We had 14mm from yesterday afternoon until some time overnight. That's as much as the total for the previous 31 days.

I celebrated by not watering the garden this morning and i may not water in the evening either :-D

Oh, and the heat warning id over for now and we decided 5 days was long enough after the mould spray to turn the HVAC back on. I slept well last night :orange :orange :orange

Gents;
We have rain !! Yeee hah, It has been about 20 dry days (in my recollection) since we had some meaningful rain. It is supposed to rain all day, a lovely soaking rain. Love it.

I was back to watering twice per day the next day.

When I looked outside this morning I thought "Oh, rain" :(
Then I thought "OH! Rain" :-D :orange :mrgreen:
The gauge says 2mm fell but everything is still damp and there are clouds as far as I can see to the west so hopefully we'll get a bit more before before it is done.
I think I'll celebrate by not watering again.... :8)

Anybody want rain? We just had flash flooding here near Marshall, MN. Many basements need a diving board.
We have a pond in our pasture, my daughter now has lakeshore property.
And guess what we're getting in a half hour? Another 12 hours of heavy rain is forecast.
Yikers bikers.

Please send us a couple of inches of it. The ground is so dry here that there are cracks you can put your hand into.

Left Oregon a few days ago. Weather the whole week we were there was just perfect. low humidity and low 70's for temps. Dream weather. Now over in Orofino Idaho for the night. Warm (85 at sunset) but low humidity.
