As of our return from Paris Fairgrounds on Saturday June 16th , 26,991 trikified miles have been tallied on trike's odometer.

Hopefully , broken leg heals well enough to allow us to ride again.

My buddies will remember my broken leg June, 2018..
The "bad" leg. It healed but I no longer trust my quad cane. Folding walker from now on.
I have rode trike about 3,700 miles afterwards. All those miles, while keeping the quad cane still lashed on trike in case I absolutely HAVE to get away from it. Limits my activity.

But, how will I carry a folded walker on trike?
Trailer? No.
Backpack? NO!

Found a vertically collapsing walker. Scissors - like into a column of sorts.

Then, searched for some method to mount it on trike.
Found 1 piece rubber clamps! Like used to mount a fire extinguisher. Now, the quad cane will be removed and retired.

Until COVID-19 interfered with our collective plans, I had been thinking the 2020 Paris Fairgrounds CVMG Rally pilgrimage would be possible this year. Not likely now.

Sure does mount nice on top of that top bag. Since there is no fenders on Threedom yet, you may want to bag that Walker to prevent mud and stone chips.

Yep. I have a lightweight nylon sleeve to protect it from the elements.
Grudgingly, though, I need to remove the saddlebags.
When riding along, the bags, in concert with the fairing and its windshield, create a low pressure area behind the trike that collects exhaust gas and swirls it into my operators station.

Also, prior to installing the saddlebags before my trip to my first Paris Rally in 2015, rain water off the uncovered rear tires would just rooster-tail backwards. I didn't get more than a mist around my lower legs. Fun to see in the mirrors.

After the saddlebags were installed, that rainwater off the tires is now collected in the low pressure area and ends up coming over my back into the backside of the windshield.

Crazy what happens when the airflow around the motorcycle is disturbed.

Do you think the top bag can stay if you remove the saddlebags. Interesting on the saddlebag effect, would not have expected that since they are not in the same air as the tires. But do try the top bag only and see how that does by going through some puddles. Just like you did years back.

The trunk is tooooo useful to remove.
Especially now to transport the new walker.
The saddlebags not so much. They just collect stuff.
I will report back after my first ride in the rain with the saddlebags removed.
I don't foresee that happening for a few months though.
Hopefully, the low pressure exhaust fumes and rain will diminish, and the rooster tails will return!

I need to add a personal tribute to this Topic.
The man that I referred to as my machinist friend, in essence the co-builder of the trike, has passed away.

Jim Rowley is his name. A professionally employed machinist for 40 plus years, at the same business. Laid off 12 years ago, though.

At the age of 70, just one year younger than me. Dementia and gastro-intestinal problems eventually took him, Wednesday afternoon.
His considerable contributions to the project allowed me to make this whole GL1000 trikification process a reality.
A very successful reality.
