Just replaced the pickups and I noticed when I look straight down at them the center piece that slides in between the pickups is in about a 10th of an inch in from the pickups. It seems to me it should be out flush with them. Almost like I lost some kind of spacer that goes behind the center piece. Are they supposed to sit like that ???
Also can that center piece ever go bad. Thanks.

Hello and welcome aboard Manta, I hope you like your stay,
and don't be afraid to jump into a discussion.

Check air gap between the puls generator rotor and pickup,
0.40mm - 0.90mm (0.016 - 0.035 in)
Everything can go bad
