I am home safe and sound. Rode into town at 10:00pm Friday night under a full moon, listening to the engine purr. The PNW meet was fantastic. Great planning and follow through by the crew. I enjoyed meeting everyone, even the little fellow, Frank.

And I just can't help but express some more feelings, then I'll stop. What a trip this was. Two weeks from nebraska to Colo, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon, Calif, Nevada, Utah, Colo and back to Nebr. Saw the Teatons, did Teaton Pass, Drinkwater pass, saw Crater lake, saw old friends, met new friends, rode down Hwy 101, rode I don't know how many sweeping curves and twisty turns, crested I don't know how many summits and passes, went through a bunch of National forests, took a dip in the Trinity River, saw lake tahoe, rode Hwy 50 the loniest rode in America, blasted through Utah. rode through canyons and over mountains and through deserts. Met a Canuck and we smoked cigars, said he would send me some cuban cigars.

Couldn't have done it without this club and all the members here that contribute and encourage one another. Thanks Warren and Paul for the company. Thanks everyone who made the run.

For me it was a trip of a lifetime. Others have done more, there will be more trips, but this was a gas, a challenge, a hell of a good time. At times it was a mutha, sore ass grind, but now it's a sweet memory. I'll get my pics posted as soon as the wife gets home with the laptop. Thanks all, hope to see ya all again down the road.

What a great time. Can't wait till next year. Good to see all the friends from last year and meet new ones. Thanks John and Ron for letting me travel with you on the way up. Keep in touch. I can use the wisdom.

Notes from the run:

Farthest traveled - Brant (Nebraska)
Most meet ups - Ron (HMRatham) (every one except the first one)
The meaning of Hmratham - He'll have to explain.

There is no way I could make a trip like that. How could I pull my fishing boat all that way with my GL1000. I would go nuts being that close to a lake like that and being able to wet a line!!!

From what Charlie was saying, with volcanic rock algae doesn't grow so no real fish can survive in there.
No real eco system in the water.

But there are fish in Crater Lake, You just can't use a boat. No boat ramp and no floatation devices of any kind allowed in the park. See here.
http://www.nps.gov/archive/crla/brochures/fish.htm
Diamond Lake however was only about 20 miles away and they do allow boats and a have a boat ramp.
