Purchased this GL1100I for $900. Has no fairings, blinkers, and a shot rear master cylinder & caliper.
Spot painted rust of frame and components with Rustoleum Rust Reformer.
Installed rear and front turn LED signals ($10 from China). Manufactured a bracket for the front with 1 1/4" conduit bracket I found at Home Depot. For the rear I had to do some sanding and cutting with my Dremel.
Rebuilt the rear calipers and master cylinder with J&L gasket kit I purchased from George'sFix on EBAY.com
Working on polishing timing cover, valve cover, intake, and front forks with polishing rouge I got from Sears for $12. The white seems to have the best results right now. A mirror-finish in about 10 minutes for a 1" x 1" area.
Other areas I'm looking into and most likely need to get done are the front master cylinder (or at least the reservoir cup), the front fork seals (looks like the previous owner used gear oil instead of ATF??? IDK), and possibly a series regulator (because charging my battery every other day is PITA).
Things I plan on doing in the very near immediate future is flush my radiator and use Peak 50/50 I bought at Advance for $6 a gallon. Change the oil with 15W-40 Rotella T. Inspecting the timing, check the valves (and ohh yeah I got gaskets for the valve covers because it has liquid gasket right now and there's a leak on the right side.), and then finally do a carb sync.
