GREAT SEALER FOR HYDRAULIC SYSTEM (ENGINES FORKS PUMPS ETC.

#1

Post by mrbswing »

A couple of years ago I had a wing with leaky forks a friend told me about this product so I tried it. I put some in my front forks and a few days later NO LEAKS I was amazed. A friend called and had a leak in his power steering so I turned him onto this product and it worked :) . I also tried it in automatic transmission and it worked. In my books this is a fantastic product and can be used on darn near everything except brakes. Airconditioners, jacks, axle seals, gear boxes, pinion seals, differentials etc. here is there web page http://www.seallube.com/ if you have any hydraulic unit that leaks try this product and you also will be amazed.. hope it works for you like it has worked for me, and no I do not have shares of it :) Good luck thanks 8)

I have a bottle of that stuff. Thanks for reminding me. I'll try it in my leaky floor jack tomorrow!

sounds like something to make the seals swell a bit.

heavy doses of chlorine will do that to the rubber in water system valves & joints. unless the seals are viton or... crap I can't remember the other material. it's been a while.

I was just using something a few weeks ago (working on the bike) that made the rubber plunger in my syringe swell so that it wouldn't go back in the housing.

Nitrile?? I think this is the most common type. But for all the DIY guys out there do not use them in your brake systems as that is one of the fluid types they fail in.

seal lube

#7

Post by goldbgr »

Dumb question, where did you pour it in? I have a leaky front seal on an 84 goldwing. had the seals replaced, was told that there were some big scratches on the down tubes, and that the seals might not last very long...they didn't, about a year. Which brings up another question, can you polish out scratches? I can't see them on the tubes, but I don't really know where to look anyway...

Yes you can get some emery cloth and polish them. You would put the lube seal where you put the fork oil in on the top of the fork tubes. You will have to release the air pressure then take off the tops of the forks, be very carefull because they are under spring pressure and can be a pain in the ass to get back together. The best way I found is to let the fork tubes come up above the handle bars. Release the two bolts on the top and loosen the ones where it bolts to the frame and get the forks up as high as you can without hurting anything. you will find this way a lot easier then if left in their original position, put about an ounce in each tub, it takes awhile for it to work you need to go for a ride on a bumpy road so the forks have to go up and down. This has worked for me 3 out of 4 times I have used it. If I can help with any other questions please let me know and I'll do my best to help you good luck..till then 8)

I suggest that ... if you need to add fluid or seallube to the forks of an 1100 ... release the air pressure with the Shrader, then remove the air fittings. Put the fork oil or seal stuff in through the fitting hole.

Taking off the caps is WAAAYYYY to hard.

sounds like a great product but a bit pricey almost $20 for an 8 oz bottle. i guess 1 tablespoon in each front fork would be enough. How much would you use in the engine?
a auto carpet and vinyl top shop told me after awhile rubber will actually wick up water and to put chapstick on it to reseal it. any thoughts?
