Now that I've got my turn signals mounted, I'd like to get rid of the huge original rear brake light/plate holder. It works fine, I just want something smaller and don't want to chop off the OEM mounting points from a perfectly good tail light.
Are there any Honda OEM or aftermarket lights that are compatible with the GL1100 bolt hole pattern? I also don't want to drill out a perfectly good fender.
Looking for incandescent lights rather than LED.
Thanks for any ideas

Yeah, i realize that. i was hoping to narrow the field a little to ones that will match the mounting points, unless you think ebay has 1000's wit the same bolt holes.

The bolt holes will most likely be different than stock.
To me, there's no reason NOT to drill new holes. The fenders are not rare, the bikes aren't that rare.
But if you don't want to drill, make a simple adapter plate to keep the originals.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that finishing out the back of a motorcycle is the hard part.
It's gotta have:
You have options ranging from custom bracketry that will fit the stock fender holes but adapt to your new light housing, or altering the stock housing and lens, or going full custom with a new fender to butcher yourself.
In the end, you just need to be able to get the wheel off without taking half the bike apart, or having to rewire it.
(I would suggest not going "minimalist" with the brake light UNLESS you go with multiple lights to make up for size.)
It's gotta have:
- Brake lights
- Turn indicators
- Registration plate
- A light for the registration plate
- Maybe a "5 to 4" wiring adapter (depending on the lights)
- Maybe a fender.

One could also buy a used rear fender for cheap and drill that one, saving the original.

You could make a custom enclosure from fiberglass. Carve a block of rigid foam to the shape you want, lay fiberglass cloth over it with epoxy. Strip out the foam, & drill holes for mounting. This is a custom airbox made to fit under the seat, between the frame rails for my honda cb650.
