Hi all. Been awhile since I needed help but am wondering. I have a leak #1 carb that I suspect is due to needle valve seat issues. If I tap the carb with a mallet and wooden dowel the leak often quits only to resurface the next time I fire the bike up. I intend to pull the carbs and reinstall new valves and bowl gaskets. When I check partzilla they show two different parts #s for that item 16011-371-014 or 16011-371-305 in both cases four are required. Any of the gurus here know which part # is the correct one? I am a long way out in the boonies and don't want to order the incorrect ones or maybe it is just an update? Also the gasket set is unavailable anyone have a satisfactory supplier? Any advice appreciated. The bike runs strong after a thorough cleaning two years ago and therefore will not be ordering a complete rebuild kit.

Jones’s, just order a a seal set from Randakks, they use Viton which better stands up to the alcohol and other additives in todays fuels.

I'm not all that knowledgeable, but I'm not sure why dowel/mallet on a running motor with a needle valve problem would correct matters for the ride. I think of that approach as more of a remedy for the occasional hanging float? (I've used it many times.) I'd probably first suspect that the float pin is binding or if there's something keeping the float from rising enough to seat the valve.
