Help with "Search" function

Hello naked friends. On a regular basis, I attempt to search the various forums. For example, today I tried searching for "jet stuck in tower". Most of my searches are futile with "no matches found" being my most common response or a ton of posts with the word "stuck" in them. I have tried using the advance search with "+" in front of key words like "stuck" and "jet" but still I never get a good match and end up scrolling through tons of unrelated posts. Is the "search" option working for others? What am I doing wrong?

Yeah … our search function is not the best … google search often takes you here … and 'similar topics' at the bottom of the page sometimes helps … keep your key words as simple as possible

At least now I know that it is not just me. And, believe me, I am so appreciative of how much this forum does. And,when I compare this to GWD's site with is jumble of ads, I appreciate the members who are maintaining this site even more.
