Gl1200 cdi trouble

#1

Post by Mercalex »

Hi everyone got a 1984 (86 engine) gl1200 heavily modified with à M unit blue wiring
Im almost done building the bike but i noticed not all cylinder are firing
3 days ago cyl 1 and 3 was working..(i think)or only 3
Now 3 and 4 are working but no spark at 1 and 2..
Both coil have correct ohms
Both pulse gen have correct ohm
Coil, spark wire and spark plug are New..
Engine is rebuilt completely..
But i noticed i had à ground continuity at the yellow/blue wire on the coil not firing cyl 1/2
Recheck all my wiring back to cdi
Un plug cdi and test the yellow/blue wire to green one(still have a continuity) even yellow/blue and blue/yellow togheter..

Is this normal???? Please help
Is the cdi defective?
ThNks all

could be the pulsar. The 84 pulsar is unique to that year and is mounted behind the stator. It would only be available off a parted out bike. OR it could be the cdi. I think that is common to all 1200's, but they are only available used.
