I don't know what possessed me - but this followed me home the other day. Hasn't been on the road since 2007, and is a rather rare bike: It's a 1989 Honda VTR250, supposedly a blast to ride. It's pretty small - my knees hug the tank - but Hey, it's a Honda, right??

The case looks like crap but the innards (as I found out when I was trying to get it to roll off the truck bed thinking the clutch plates were stuck - they weren't ) is pretty immaculate - and only 5K on the speedometer! I thought the clutch plates were locked up, but it turned out to be the rear brake shoes, which were frozen to the wheel and no, I haven't tried to start it yet. It cranks, when I do the old 'screwdriver to the solenoid trick, but my problem is, there's no key...(see gas cap and barren start switch below). Does anybody know how to get either (A) into the gas cap without a key, or (B) where is the key code located? I haven't taken the switch out yet, but this bike is 'all there'; there's still gas in the tank too! Probably varnish by now, which I would like to get out, add some fresh gas and see if it starts. The oil was still golden when I drained it!...I took off the magenta/white side plastics to get to the rest of it. (It's very "Miami Vice" looking - I'm still not sure about how I feel about it!
