thought you folks might like to see this. the repair job on the tank from the bike. My paint and body guy is extremely talented.
I looked for a used tank and the ones I found had damage so I decided to go with mine. I cut the undamaged side out so he could see what I wanted and he did the rest.

he's only young but he has serious metal fab skills.
we are going with a custom paint job as well. the base color will be black cherry. the entire tank except for the scalloped sides will be candy apple red with the bowling ball effect.
the fenders will be laid out like this..with black cherry on the sides, candy apple in the center.

Tks WF..I hope so. I have a lot of cleaning and polishing to do so the rest of the bike looks as good. lol
When I got the bike I had decided if it is as comfortable as I hope the 1100 will be finding a new home..but then I took it for a ride saturday and I don't want to sell it now.

He's opening his own shop...he currently works for a power sports business. He told me just by word of mouth he has 20 people wanting work done. Better get your name on the list soon. lol

He sent me these today. It was his first time doing the marbling effect and he nailed it.
He wanted to do flames too and I told him to do whatever he wants because I know it will look amazing.
I "think" he will mask off the flames and it will be black cherry around the flames and candy apple red over the flames..
my lucky # is 13 (ya..I know..lol) and he was going to put it on the side panels in gold.
Then some idiot binge watched a bunch of biker build off shows and decided engine turned gold leaf for the numbers would be wicked..
So now I gotta teach myself how to do that...

will do. I still have a bunch of things to do to it..replace the intake manifold (mine is cracked), clean, rebuild the carb, order cables...try and make the rest of the bike look as good as the body parts will. lol

another small update. Work came to a halt while he healed up from crashing his mountain bike. He's slowly getting back in to the swing of things.
Pretty much all that is left is some graphics, candy apple red and clear.
