New to the forum
Greetings,
I’m so glad to find this forum. Long story short, I’m a certified Motorcycle Mechanic (which just means I went to school to be reminded to read the manuals and use a torque wrench). My goal is to rescue bikes from the graveyards and put them in the hands of appreciative riders. I want to be a builder but for now I’m a repairman and modifier. I was looking for the perfect base to build my best friend his first adult bike and we just found a 1982 GL1100 naked Gold-wing. This maybe my first one to work on but based on how much I love this thing it won’t be my last.

Welcome! Hint: adding location to your profile allows those close to offer in-person assistance.
That bike should be a great intro to the GLs. I have rescued a few GL1000s and caution you not to be discouraged by what you may find may have been done by previous owners and mechanics. They can survive a LOT of abuse! There are new-to-me GL articles on the forum, and of course the standard issue warning: CHANGE YOUR BELTS!
