02 GL1800 Rear Diff

Is there a way to check the diff for camber, my bike had a tire failure with the left side of the tire down to the cords and the right side with decent tread. Just looking for a reason this happened within a short amount of miles. tire had 6500 hundred miles but this problem happened in last two hundred. Thanks

This guy is local to me.
Talked to him via telly today and got him on the road. This bike is north of 100k and the rear end is a weak link in some 1800's.

With all the cracked & broken frame issues that the 1800 has had a very close inspection is warranted, might be worth taking it someplace with a frame jig.
Of course an afternoon (with some adult beverages of course) going over it making sure things are tight and no obvious problems with things like the diff to swingarm mount good, is the swingarm to frame pivot tight ? I’d give the bottom of the frame a thorough look for cracks & defects & square.

I had a 2002 GL1800 and I sold it to my friend when I got my 2006. My friend for the past year experienced a rumble which got worse as he leaned into a corner. Blamed all kinds of things like the tyre, but there was nothing obvious. I gave him a spare bevel gearbox that I had just to try it out, and the problem went away. He was going to open up his unit to see if he could find the cause of the noise, I dont know if he actually did.
