82 Gl1100 Cafe Racer, Dual Weber idf 40's.

I had tried to post above, a video of the bike running but apparently I dont know how to post a video. So you will just have to trust me that it runs and sounds awesome. Lol. I've decided to run 4 inch stacks instead of an air cleaner. I followed the tips gregforesi gave in this thread about running the stacks. I beveled the carb area where it meets the stack to get rid of about an 1/8 step. I want to have filtration but not something that is visible looking at the stacks. A problem with putting a filter in the stack is that it somewhat defeats the purpose by introducing tubulant air instead of having a laminar air flow. My work around is going to be to use 1/8 inch cell metal honeycomb that is about 1/2 an inch thick to straighten the air as it enters the carb. It serves a second purpose which is to support the foam filter media that will sit on top of the honeycomb. These air straighteners are used on the intake of some vehicles to straighten the air before the maf sensor. I haven't seen it done before in my application but I think it will work correctly.

This is where I'm at today with my dual Weber conversion. Finally got the carbs dialed in and it runs awesome. Painted it over the winter as well.

I just love how these dual webers look ( Bike too) I dont find any data if some one has ever "dyno" tested his motorbike with these weber's. If any of you have it, i like to see some data if possible.
