Spark Plug Cap installation
Thanks for all the information I have received from this site while restoring my 77 goldwing. (set for 28 years untouched by PO) I couldn't have done it without all the information here. I need to replace the spark plug caps. I bought the NGK caps that are recommended on the Randakk site. I read that I need to trim 1/4" off the wires before I install the new caps. Is there a proper way to trim the wires? Will wire cutters work ok? What else do I need to do to make sure they are installed properly? I will post pictures when I can get some. Thanks again

Re: Spark Plug Cap installation
Just snip off 1/4 inch, to expose fresh wire, with scissors, wire cutters or a sharp knife. Anything will do as long as it's a clean cut. Pull the little grommet from the top of the new cap and put it on the end of the wire. Then just screw the cap on about 5 to 7 turns. It will bottom and won't go any farther. Push the grommet down to seal the cap. That's all there is to it.
