Father's 1978 gl 1000 he was the 2nd owner , she just riled 29738 miles. Just getting broke in 38 years later, lol stripped all that didn't appeal to me and changed a few things that I wanted

As I got her, then I rode it like this for a year before I started to change a few things and black some stuff out

Are you sure you don't want to keep the air horns and the King Queen seat? Just kidding, very nice bike (now) I am working on a black '78 at the moment as well. It was in a bit worse shape to start ($80-that tells the story) but I rounded up such a nice set of original side covers (black with gold) that I probably will repaint the shelter to match. Black rims look great also.
Bikes at present:

83 XL 600r with a 2004 XR650L engine
And a slightly worse for the wear BMW GS adventure bike awaiting repair
