HD tank on my bagger

#1

Post by red91sho »

Been working on the bagger and purchased a HD tank off Ebay. ending up cutting a lot off and replacing the tank shelter. Had to change how the seat mounted to cover up the bigger gap between the seat and the "new" shelter. But, overall pleased with the look. Changed the fuse box location, moved some wires around and hinged the front of the tank and rear of the seat to access the stock gas cap. I want to redo the seat pan to make it a little neater and less bulky looking. I have some pics and will post more later this week.

Sorry for the landscape pics...

Looking good. Is that the final color or just primer?

right now its rattle can flat black. But I'm leaning towards keeping it and maybe some subtle old school pinstripes

tumb2 tumb2 Yep. Like that idea.
I like your fit and trim with saddle & frame.
It's tough to make all of those elements flow.

Bike looks very good and I have toyed with the idea myself but what stops me is the idea that we do not need any more motorcycles that look like Harleys!!

I have to respectfully disagree with you. With Harley's looks and Honda's dependability, it's a winner.

X2...my eye was immediately drawn to that area, and the work on it looked good. Nice job. I like the tail light too.

Let me be clear, I have nothing against Harleys (have a replica sitting by my computer) but I just hate the idea of a Honda imitating a Harley. It is a bit like a Mustang being customized to look like a Camaro. ("just saying") But I do have an '81 that would look nice with a solo seat and maybe a different tank. devil1
