Hi

I want to remove the logos that are on the side covers, but I don't want to break them.
I see that the back pin is held in place by something that looks like a round washer with "teeth" in in.
It's number 9 in the drawing attached.
What's the good way of remove it??

Well, I wish you the best of luck. The logos are plastic and the pins are thin and easy to break. I had a good bit of luck removing mine by spinning the back washers off as I gently pulled on the logo as well as gently pulling on the washer as I spun it. Good luck.

i use a 1-1/2" bevel blade chisel scraper to get under the emblem then with a slight twisting action work my way around gently evenly a bit at at time

some of the emblems also have a thin slice of 2 sided sticky/glue(?) foam to deal with

you have to be careful of lifting an end too much cos easy to lift there, compared to a bit at a time all around, but then easy to end up bending or breaking it

you wanna work the scraper right up to the pins where you can then apply max twisting/wedging/lifting force

I removed all of mine to get better access for polishing out the paint. I just used a tiny screwdriver to bend up the "teeth" on the washers (actually push-nuts), just enough to allow them to come off. Use another screwdriver to hold the push-nut down so only the part you want to move, moves. Then either buy new ones or flatten the old ones back out and re-use them. They shouldn't be completely flat, though...

+1 on bending the 'teeth" up just put some pressure on the pin so you are not pushing it to the side as it will break fairly easily as you bend the teeth..bend one or two usually does it.

Don't beat yourself up if you break them. Easy to do. I see them on ebay.

Being careful doesn't always work. If you break a pin don't fret. I use 3M double sided body and trim tape to put them back on. It's kind of expensive, about $30 a roll but you end up with a life time supply which you will use for all kinds of stuff.

I will probably never put them back on, but you never know. That's why i would like to have them intact!
