I have noticed the splines on the rear of our 1200 are showing wear and so was searching fleabay. . So looking for some "expert" eyes.

On this one, it appears the splines may be wearing, but what do you see?

From what I can tell I don't think I see much wear in those splines on either the drive or the hub. I've seen some splines from some 1100s that I parted were worn to needle points. Make sure you slather on a good dollop of moly lube on the splines during every rear tire change. I've had friends who owned Valkyries and wore the rear splines out until they started applying moly during tire changes which stopped the wear. I don't think it was a procedure in the service manual to lube the splines but it worked.

Not an expert, but,

That is toast!

I never want to see those chips in there.

On a side note, I'm still planning on making the Eastern Run.
I can bring this one up and you can take a look if you want to haul it home.
Forget what GL1200 it came from, but looks in great condition.

unfortunately mileage is not given. The ones on our 1200 are just slightly worn, but I wanted a backup. I always put moly on, but it doesn't help we also have a sidecar, which is a bit tougher on all components
