Old Photos of our Riding Past, Bikes and Road
I recently found a lost shot of my first street bike - a 2 year old '77 CB750K. Unlike some of you more forward-thinking riders, I have precious few shots of my "old days". The few I did have are "commandeered" by my ex-wife. Maybe some day she'll relinquish them, but for now, I have only a handful.
This CB750 cemented my "habit". This shot is after installed an aftermarket seat, but before the ubiquitous Kerker was added - and a couple of years before the RC Engineering kit went into the motor. I had it from '78 (a year old) until '82. A couple of Limeys joined it in the "stable" at that time and quite a few others have come and gone in the meantime. I really enjoy seeing photos of you guys from "back in the day".
We really had fun, didn't we? (The lucky ones among us STILL ARE).

I wish I had photo`s of all my bikes and cars..Back then it was costly to buy camera, film and have it processed, and to tell the truth I never thought all those old cars and bikes were anything special..they were everywhere and the fun would never end, These days they are collectors items.

Same here with the same regrets! To me, that was something for photography enthusiasts, not motorcycle "Riders" (notice I didn't use the term motorcycle enthusiast)!zman wrote:I wish I had photo`s of all my bikes and cars..Back then it was costly to buy camera, film and have it processed, and to tell the truth I never thought all those old cars and bikes were anything special..they were everywhere and the fun would never end, These days they are collectors items.
Even today, I'm not much of a picture taker! I've had my Harley since 2002 and only have a handful of pics of it! I have even managed to lose some of those due to lost SD cards and computer melt-downs!

Not my first bike, but my first GL from back in the late 80's
Bought it with the Vetter, but I added sofa seat, backrests, harley bags, etc....You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

The large brown bike to the right is my former Scarabeo 500. It was a 500cc touring "scooter" made by Aprilia. I really miss that bike. It was as comfortable as my GL1800 for long haul rides - I added a backrest sometime after the photo was taken.

Re: Old Photos of our Riding Past, Bikes and Road
Don't have a picture of my first bike, but here's a pic of my first restoration. A 1971 Honda CB500-Four, circa 1982. Found this one with 8" over fork legs, ape hangers and a sissy bar, in pea-soup green and black. (No, those aren't motorcycle related injuries).
Here's the same bike later the same year, with me doing my best Fast Freddie imitation
. Really dragging my knee huh?
When the CB-500 suffered an early death (fell over while parked on the side stand on a dirt driveway which turned to mud in a rainstorm - landed against a tree stump which crushed the gas tank and was sold off as scrap), I bought my first (and only) NEW Motorcycle - a FT-500 Ascot. Here it is loaded up for a trip to Tobermory, Ontario, for a weekend of camping, circa 1985.

Re: Old Photos of our Riding Past, Bikes and Road
OK, one of my favorite old, personal photos. Central Florida circa 1981, the subject is not me
, but a one-time good friend. She's astride my CB750 Super Sport. I bought if from a friend in desperate financial straits - and he sold it to me VERY cheaply. Trouble was, I already had a 750K and only kept this one for about a year. It had some nice (for the time) custom touches and always got favorable comments.
