Hello there!
Got a question. When static timing one of my projects, the static light would alot of times stay on, but dim during the cycling of the engine sometimes way before and after the "f" mark. I checked and double checked the gap and changed points, but still a long dim light. I changed over to elctronic ignition and wow the static light worked like it should have with the points. Do you think it was a grounding problem or is this the norm? It has been bugging me!
Thanks. :)

Not normal. When I static timed mine, the light clearly cut on and off. Did you disconnect your points at the condensers? (Or maybe it's the condensers you disconnect. I don't have my manual in front of me.)

I Would Also Look At The Condensor For These Symptoms... Glad To Hear You Got Away From Them Pesky Points.... My Opinion

Thanks, I did unhook the condenser, replaced wih another and regrounded the unit and no change. It was so speratic it was hard to tell when you were in time. Maybe one day it will show its ugly face!
