Okay I have been reading a lot about adding an alternator of increased amperage to a bike (general) however, I may be asking a real stupid question here and I haven't seen the answer so here goes, What do you do with the on board genny? Do you just disconnect it from the system, leave in place and use, I assume it would be possible to use both on the Wing in general. We had a Blue water boat that had two gennys or alternators one for the start batteries and the other for the general use batteries.

Cool but if you just unplug it you are still turning the weight, so I would have thought taking it out would loose a few pounds. Anyways I like the idea of the extra amps. Thanks.

Part of the housing is used by the starter chain, so it's not just a toss it out and go thing. And the engine has to come out of the frame too.
If 3 pounds means that much, one word, Supercharger

It is literally not possible to rid the bike of the alternator. Doing so would render the motorcycle impossible to start as the rear of the alternator connects to the starter sprag which turns the motor over.
There are three springs and rollers that allow the chain to rotate the engine in one direction, stopping it from rotating in the 'wrong' direction that are absolutely necessary.
I have pictures and pictures of all of this, but don't let em bore you.

Plus I am pretty sure the Stator magnets rotate opposite the crank and so they have a neutralizing effect on engine run up torque.

Good choice but a good alternator should provide charge even at low revs once the system has been excited (old red charging light should do it) , my guess would be to change the pulley for a smaller one at the cambelt drive and or a larger one at the alternator side. But I will be doing this mod myself when I get her over, not long now two months and she will be here.
And I think I will be making use of a lot of LED's for lighting, secondary lighting that is, I will be making use of HID lights too. 90 Amps should be adequate to most Bikers needs, my Mercedes Benz ML270 alternator is a 90 Amp alternator and in the future I may change it for a 190 Amp but even then that would be overkill.
