Well, maybe not your life, but your peace of mind, at least if you own a GL1000. What is it? It's the idle jet, of course! This pesky little dude is the most important jet in the carburetor, contoller of the most difficult carburetor circuit to get right, to tune, to be at terms with, and wouldn't you know it, it is the hardest to get to and the tiniest thing in there!

They seem to be awesome at catching flash rust from the tank. Maybe I should get some and make a fuel filter out of them.

Yes indeedy. I am just awed by how naively Honda spec'd these carbs, as if no contaminants would ever dare invade them!
