It appears to be red colour and is at the bottom of the rear case, near the centerstand area. There is not enough to make a puddle but there is a drop waiting to fall.
any ideas of what causes this (and is it really gear oil?)

Firstly pull back the gaiter on the motor end of the swingingarm and take a look there, sometimes anyoilthat gets past the bevel boxoil seal will travel up the drive shaft and collet in the gaiter and then onto the floor in this area.
If this is the case replaces the bevel box oil seal. This is not to difficult, all you need is a bit of inginuity to remove and replace the seal.

They say WHY?, I say why not.
If God had intended motor cycles to be standard, he would'nt have given us the hacksaw.

Check your rear brake lines for damage too, maybe a leakage.sanfelice wrote:It appears to be red colour and is at the bottom of the rear case, near the centerstand area. There is not enough to make a puddle but there is a drop waiting to fall.
