how hard is it to replace the starter brushes in a gl1100 interstate? my sarter seems to drag like I have a weak battery. The battery stays charged at all times and the vlotage meter shows the battery charging.

fairly straightforward i think,but is the starter the problem?
are the wires+earthwire secure?
is the solenoid ok?

Try changing the brushes, cleaning the comutator and making sure the brush plate in amking a good connection to earth.
