I was getting the death squeel and the speedometer was jumping to the peg limit. I thought "It just the speedo cable no biggy!" Wasn't the cable
It is in the speedo, I am thinking "What are my chances of disassembling the speedo and lubing it and replacing that screw that fell out of the face?" Not real good was my answer. See my post on replacing my water pump So I pulled the cable off at the speedo took a can of white lithium gease, pressurized, made sure the bendy straw was attached with a test spray, turned the can upside down (I have a fairing)and inserted the bendy straw into the cable hole and sprayed, just a bit as the internal straw won't hold much, pulled it out refilled the straw and repeated the lube job. I did it three times. This morning I did not get the death squeel and no speedo jumping. Seems to work. I used whithe lithium as when it dries it well still lube parts, a lite oil like WD40 well dry out and though it well clean parts well not lube them correctly. Silicon oil would not last either.
I am not in a hurry, your just slow!

The only problem with white lit grease, is it attracts and catchs dust and dirt and that can be bad news. In such a area I would use a dry lube, grafite or such.

I can't recall seeing a spray graphite, I shall keep an eye out for it. I did not think that the enviroment inside the speedo housing would be severe enough, that and the death squeel needed attention. Thanks for the idea.
