... an 11-minute EASY JOB while watching USAMA BIN LADEN's baby pictures!...

The bike mechanic that will be doing work on my Valkyrie made a suggestion about removal of the harnesses
from inside the handlebars.

As instructed by him, I used a Plumber's Butane Torch and carefully heated the handlebar one side at a time for about 3-5 minutes.
Each harness pulled out as if sliding on butter. The entire job, including burning my pinky took less than 11 minutes.

While the harnesses were still warm, I stretched them by pulling on each end. They look new. No kinks whatsoever.

Am a freakin' happy camper!

Sounds like a great idea, I'll give that a try next time...

I've used Dawn dish detergent and water, dribbled into the handlebars from both openings, then wiggle the harnesses back and forth firmly, but gently till they pull through. Unfortunately, the last one I did had several wires spliced into the original harness and there was no way all that extra wire/solder would fit through, so they had to be cut ;-(
