Quick ride around Frederick, MD New Video added 8/1/10

Having just received my much anticipated new neutral switch I quickly got my bike back together. This included replacing the tach cable gasket and painting the headers black again. I decided I'd take the bike out for a nice ride before the rain moves in. I attached my 808 Keychain camera to the master cylinder. I didn't realize that the camera was at a slight angle so sorry for the camera orientation. Also, I compressed the heck out of the video trying to get it down below the 2GB limit. And once I uploaded it to Youtube they added more compression.

Anyway, this is a quick trip around the block - so to say. It's pretty much all country around here and the blocks are really big! This is the first video I've edited and put on Youtube so I don't know the consequences. I added some audio to replace the wind noise from the camera. I'm not sure if Youtube will pull the audio.

During my trip I discovered my right foot was getting oil on it. This was a bit of a surprise when I stopped on a hill and put my foot down and I didn't have any traction. With a heavy bike and still recovering from knee surgery I decided it was time to head back home and fix the leak. I had just replaced the seal where the tach comes out the water pump so it has to be something in that area.

Note: I'm going to try and re-compress the video to produce a better image... Think of this post as a work in progress.

That little camera does a nice job ... too bad about the angle but for a first time the ride was great. Thanks Paul for the ride along and I really enjoyed the music.

Moved to Ride Reports.

Went out for another ride today. This time I mounted the camera on the engine guard. Much Better! Additionally, I did a better compression job. And, I added music that I think Youtube won't mute this time. This truly is a learning experience!

Here's the video of me going up through Catoctin, MD. This is actually one of the best riding spots in all Frederick County. Today it was threatening thunder storms so I was unsure about how long I was going to stay out. In the end I put in about 90 minutes and had only a couple of sprinkles. It was a good day.
