				80 CX500D boil over problem?

My CX500 after riding around the block two ar three times boils over after shutting off the engine. The P.O. said he removed the thermostat, but the temp gauge stays in the middle. The boil over occurs after the engine is shut off. I think maybe the radiator cap is bad, which I am going to try first. Then thermostat, then radiator cleaning. Anyone with similar experiences, comments, etc. Thanks,AGB-1: mileage:15,000.

Never had a problem like that.
I think your plan is logical.
The only time I had something similar it was the cap.

I would put a thermostat in it too. All motors will run hotter without a thermostat. It alows the water/coolant to travel through the radiator too fast to get enough heat drawn from it. In most race cars they use a washer in palce of a thermostat to add this restriction.
