I gave her rides on one of Dad's 1500's years back and she was in heaven compared to the 1000. I wanted the comfort of the 1500 for her but.... I wanted the sportiness of the 1800 for me!! It is not as plush of a ride as the 1500 but she really likes it.

spent an hour or so wiring a "work around" on the project 77. All I could find in the stash was 78 coils and the hook up is different than the wring for a 77 (and earlier). That was Friday. Yesterday I found a box with two sets of coils (75-77).

You need at least two sets of coils to find two coils without a hairline crack. Else everything is fine until a sprinkle.

replaced the wiring harness on the LTD. Now the horn works. The neutral light is still on all the time. I had tried pulling all the connectors and reconnecting, but that did not work. Anyway, it now appears "inspection" worthy!

Putzed with the 77 and 78.... mostly spent time consolidating parts into bins

Attached an old milk crate to Layla to give our pup Franki a test ride. She loves riding around the park on the golf cart and if she seems to enjoy it, I'll fab a nicer setup for the 1200 to replace the top box...
We'll also invest in a helmet and goggles for the pup!

Yep, from the pics I've seen, you'd need a double sidecar, lol!
Franki did pretty well for the most part. We took her down the side road for a short jaunt at about 35 mph and it didn't take her long to have her nose in the wind. She never does that in the car. We have to come up with a little better strapping in system, but we'll continue to take her on short rides to get accustomed to it...

We rode the San Juan Scenic Byway / Million Dollar Highway this weekend.

It's a pretty epic mountain road that we are fortunate to get to ride a couple of times a year.

well, dang started up the LTD.... the wiring harness change meant the fuel level and temp guage were working right..... it is still flooding.... so I need Fred Camper and Whiskerfish, who ARE experts in carbs in a parking lot..... just saying... have wine and beer!

It was a little tough to let this one-owner '79 with all the original paperwork go. But that was always the plan. The first person who drove out to have a look saw it for what it is.

I'm pleased that it returns to New Hampshire, where it was originally purchased from the dealer and lived out its first 45 years.

Time to update the signature.

I was planning to work on the 1200 today but while out running errands on the big bike the GPS kept quitting. Turned out the GPS battery was dead and I did not see the little icon. So then to dig into the wiring to find out why it was not charging. The transformer in the charging harness fried itself. This has happened twice before so I do keep a spare. Took a bit to replace that. Hopefully tomorrow I can get time to put the 1200 back together.
