Cranked up the 1100 to do some fine tuning and noticed that the temp and fuel gauges were both reading high. Put a voltmeter on the power wire to the gauges and there was 10.5 volts instead of the required 7 volts so I got on the computer and ordered a voltage regulator from Murray’s Carbs. $23 with shipping.

Worked on the Gas Tank some more. Scrubbed up the outside, then sanded, then OSPHO yesterday. This morning primed and finish paint. A few fish eyes but good enough, this is not a show bike. Rebuilt the petcock and cleaned / calibrated the sending unit. Couple days to let the paint harden and then swap it out

Took the 78 cafe to a show at Eastside performance cycles in Mesa. Dirty, oil streaks, water spots, dust and bugs. Still got tons of appreciative walkarounds and photographs taken from interested folks. Some very interesting motorcycles there. Lots of old-school turbo Kawasakis and Hondas, a Suzuki drag bike from the 70s, a nice XS650 flat tracker, the two-stroke contingent was out in force and three CBXs!

Great! Aren't shows great? Isn't it fun when people comment that GoldWings all have fairings?

Took a pint of gold paint down to my paint and body guy. We discussed the style of pin stripping I want. We are both exactly on the same page in regards to how much pin stripping he bike should have so I told him to do whatever he thinks will look good.
For my fellow Canucks..he said he hoped I didn't want pin stripping on everything because it will look like I had it done at Canadian Tire.
