I have a double room, looking for a roomy . . . . I'm Morgan, the 'newbie' - this is my 2nd run; I ride the '88 GL1500 if that rings a bell from Front Royal last year. Give me holler if you're interested. Thanks!

Cheaper motel rates after kids go back to school and much cooler temps to deal with while riding. Not many of us have school aged Younguns. High temps in the south make putting on riding gear very unpleasant for most of July and August. Early spring can be nice but the weather can be unpredictable so fall is often the choice.

Looking like right at 1400 miles or so not including any day rides while there. Longest single day will be the return. Right at 600 miles on the slab.

IMHO that last day is a travesty. 600+ miles on a super slab through a part of the US that offers some of the best riding in the country.

Steve, I've been thinking about this. I understand you're motivation for the 600 mile day (at least I think I do). I'll offer you a place to stay on your way home. Its not halfway but but its not 600 miles to my place either. That way you can take the time to enjoy some of the scenic rides.

Just a note, if I don't sell my 1800 by the time this rally comes along I'll probably attend, maybe even entice Terrie to join me. Either way you're welcome.

This route from the motel to my house is 460 miles, no super slab and plenty of great riding.

Dean: Good to hear from you. Thought maybe you had gone into retirement (riding retirement) or something. It would be real good to see you and Terrie at the run in Slade. It's turning out to be a pretty well attended event according to the registrations! You could ride back with WF!
