Continued East on 24 through Divide and the weather was starting to get questionable. By the time I got to Woodland Park I had to stop and put my travel bag in trash bags. Anyway on down and picked up the road to Pikes Peak. The weather was spitting but not bad as I climbed. The idiot cage drivers were the issue. So many hairpin turns I could not count them and the big SUV's in front of me like to stop in the middle of each one!! I am doing like 5 or 6 mph with the handle bars cranked all the way slipping the clutch and trying to power up through these curves and these "people" are bringing me to a stop. It was VERY Frustrating and very dangerous for me. I would lay back and try to give them room and it did not work. It is a 16 mile climb and I spent most of it in 1st gear. Anyway I finally got to where they stopped us. The Summit is under construction so the parking is almost non existent. You stop at the 16 mile mark and take a shuttle for the last 2 miles. By that time I was ready to let someone else drive

Up at the Summit was nice. I can imagine on a clear day it is quite spectacular. I fooled around there for a bit then took the shuttle back to my bike. Started down the mountain and that is when the weather turned to full on CRAP. Snow, Sleet, Freezing rain, Half inch hail, and LIGHTNING all within half and hour. It was a wild ride down the mountain

One of the views from the Carbondale pull off. Somewhere further down 82 After coming over Independence Pass Another one just past Independence pass Required Selfie The View of Colorado Springs from the Summit
My poor Dirty Girl Tomorrow I plan to visit the "Garden of the Gods" then start heading East.
