That's a Prestolite ignition. Link to documentation is in shoptalk.

Anyone know what kind of ignition I have? Its an odd arrangement with what appears to be only one adjustment for timing? It works, but I'd like to know how to adjust it.

Thanks Ron, found the link (should have looked there first). According to the static timing adjustment; there is really only one adjustment. If the F2 doesn't quite line up, then you 1/2 the difference?

Anyone have one? How do you like yours?

Thanks

Nice thread with good progress, keep up the solid restoration and I agree you did good at the salvage shop.

Pulled the fuel pump to switch out the corroded chromed parts. In the process I found fine rust particles in the pump & the valves weren't in good shape... not good. Another pump and misc gaskets are on the way.

Now the carbs needed to be checked. Pulled the carburetors and removed the float bowls. More rust and torn rubber gaskets. Ordered the master kit from Randakk's.

Not what I was expecting, but its good to catch it now.

Got a little ahead of myself and started to take the carbs apart before taking pics (sorry). Cleaned out the float bowls. I'll wait to go any further until Randakk's kit/video arrives - Looking forward to it.

3 of the 4 float bowl gaskets had this tear

Need some advice. I got the parts back from powder coating and the area where the petcock mounts wasn't done (he taped it thinking that's what I wanted - didn't read his notes)
What would you put on the area? Paint? or ? Its got to withstand gas. Looking for ideas. Thanks

here's a pic

Project is looking VERY nice. Powder coating is always incredible. Why not just leave the area where the petcock mounts the way it is? That is the way I have mine and once the petcock is installed you cant see it and it is good to have a ground where the fuel parts meet.

+1. Will the petcock cover the entire area?

Sure looks like great powder coat, nice job. I see no reason to cover that section either.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll bolt up the petcock and see if it covers the area. My initial concern was rust forming and causing the seals to leak (doesn't sound like a concern).

Took the suggestion to leave the area bare where the petcock mounts. Then I installed the petcock and took some automotive touch-up paint and filled in around it.

Cleaned up the petcock & mounted it. Still needs new seals (Randakk kit coming)
