Well … it might get up to 40 (US) today … but it’s bright and sunny, so the KLR will be carrying me to the Curling Club this morning …

There is something special about going to Curling on a KLR. About the same in Michigan. Looking like sunny and spring cool.

Still dropping from the front going through overnight. 57 right now. Going to drop a couple more before warming back to about 60 this afternoon. Still breezy. Maybe I will sneak out for a bit this afternoon.

Warm and sunny in “The Hammock” this morning. Warming up to eighty and humid today, just in time to make me glad to escape the humidity and go north.

Rainy and chilly in SW Michigan today. Tomorrow is expected to be better. Wintry mix is a good term as it was just above freezing but the downfall was slush that drooped tree branches.

A major ice storm paralyzed most of Southern Ontario this weekend. There are a lot of trees down and that took out power lines everywhere. We've been without power since Friday. It just came back. After I send this I'm going to cook lunch on the real stove (we've been using the camp stove in the garage).
Our back fence neighbour's garage roof is gone. Next door to them the yard is full of tree trunks & branches that seem to have missed a car he had parked in the middle of the yard. A lot of the big maple trees on the main road of our town are badly damaged. I took video but it may be a few days before I can process it.
One of the Manitoba maples in our yard broke in half. It was tall but the part that landed on the shed Mr.H is in was only about 5" diameter. The roof is dented but not breached (I'll post pics later) and the contents are OK.
With no power our sump pumps didn't work so by Sunday morning there was about 2" of water above the raised basement floor (4" total). Kay mentioned it to our neighbour and his son offered us his generator. One pump ran steadily for over 2 hours before it started to cycle on & off again. The insurance sent a guy to appraise it this morning. We'll be drying out what we can for the next few days.
The forecast says more ice this afternoon but "not be nearly as significant as the ice storm from this past weekend" And sunny and 17 tomorrow.

Snowing hard in Toronto … couple of inches on the ground so far but changing to freezing rain this afternoon … messy but not serious … we were lucky, the ice storm went just north of us
Hope your situation settles down soon Bob

I remember visiting Mum in law in Scarborough after the ice storm of 2018. It was weeks before they had all of the damage cleared up. It looks a lot like that around here right now.

Sorry to hear about all that Bob. Saw on the news tonight that the Paducah area is expecting up to a foot of rain out of this next system.
