I run them on an engine and sync them and adjust the idle and mixture screws. I do still recommend adjusting everything to your engine once installed though. ;)

i'm still on the road... ran the Seafoam through a tankful of gas, but still a noticeable difference when switching the fuel from 'off' to 'on' and vice versa. but it runs. and it rides. and i can still get bursts of 150kph which is about as fast as i'd care to go on a '79 with carb issues.
sure, starting it without a trickle charger (the landlord has yet to fix a shared outlet the upstairs neighbour blew) can be a tad traumatic. too many attempts (over 5 in a row) and its flooded. but starting it with choke, then immediately sorting the throttle to choke off ratio, and that resilient old gal holds her own after a few nerve wracking minutes.
and the irony of the story being... we're moving and i gotta sell 'er
