had that problem with a bike I bought here, with a Canadian title. Had to take it back to Canada, and then bring it back into the USA , and thru customs. An interesting day.

I started a thread on here asking for suggestions.
I was stunned by the replies and offers to help from folks on here and what took me totally by surprise was how far some were prepared to go to help out.
I reccommend that you read this thread all the way to the end. It gives you an insight into the sort of people that are members of this forum.

I gave a friend of mine a call. He spent about 20 years in New York and had his own Electrical contracting business.
I asked him if he knew anybody in New York or New Jersey that had storage space and loading facilities for the crate.
He made some enquiries and gave me the name of another Irish bloke that had an electrical contracting business and he was happy to help out.
I got the crate collected and brought to his place. I had never been to New York, so my Daughter and myself got booked on a plane and we headed off to the USA on an adventure.

This was the end of August 2016, almost a year after the bike was crated up.
I found my way to the warehouse in Queens and I met the man and he showed me how to get in and out when I needed.
The crate was pretty much as I had packed it in South Carolina the previous year.
I had to partially unpack it and dismantle parts from the bike, and I bought some extra bits to fill the crate and they had arrived in the days before me.

A few weeks later, the crate arrived in Dublin. It was swiftly collected and brought to my shed.

The crate got unloaded and my engine issues got investigated and I found the reason for my oil light staying on.
The frame sat pretty much unattended since.

Fast forward to the last few days.
The front forks got a bit of a going over, these caps were fitted by the previous owner. They have to go.

Front end got treated to new taper roller bearings. These were fitted. Original I assume.

This was fitted as handlebar clamps. Must have been expensive back in the day.
