well, yes, I had a whole 9 months to plan for it. but sadly our mortgage, car payment, insurance premiums & food bill is every single month. and on only one income (not mine) this can be difficult at best. it's a choice I made a few years back to go w/o a "job" and sometimes it interferes with the things I'd like to do.

I was trying to be cute and/or funny in saying "I might cry..." as it looks like everyone had a great time. I wasn't looking for pity.

the reality is; I don't have a regular job that I can just put in for a vacation... NOR do I get a reliably set amount paycheck every other week.
sorta bulldogged custom 1978 GL1000 - "geekster"
full Vetter dress 1979 GL1000 - "Barge" (currently down)
1986 1200 Aspencade - "Heart of Gold" - daily rider
1990 1500 Aspencade - It's ALIVE! but very, very naked. not in a good way.
1978 for $100 - project in worx
1978 from a previous member here - taking up space
my original '79 bought in '91 - replacing engine (eventually, maybe someday)
added an '05 1800 to the stable, all the rest gotta go

Hampster, We were just giving you a hard time. Sometimes you got to do what you got to do and we understand. We just missed seeing you. Hopefully things will work out better next year and we will get to see your smiling face.

Hamp
I know the feeling. I had to buy a new truck this year and that 450 a month is basically all of my play money for the next 5 years. I turned down several rides I would have really liked to have gone on this year just due to finances. Also trying to put a few dollars away for Deer Season and then next February is our 30th Anniversary and I am trying to put a few dollars away for that.

It really sucks being broke!! But not enough to get a job lolol lolol lolol lolol

I know the feeling being underemployed for quite some time . My gal works part time and gave me 200 dollars and said dont be in a big hurry to come home honey. Just enjoy your trip. I took my time as I normally do lolol . This was my< or our> only high mileage trip this year but didnt want to miss this one and glad I didnt. Thanks to all the grub and beverages from the sponsors and another Thanks for a quart of oil from Dave at Cyclepsycho, a few bummed smokes along the way I still had enough change for another tank of fuel when I got home. I had to refinance my horse and then my apple tree, but the farm co-op said no hurry to pay them back, as honey bee prices are up!!! (this is the sort of tall tale we endured during the adventure) LOL
