Re: GL 1000 cafe fighter
also welded a housing for the battery in the seat compartment and to mount the fuses, CDI and starter relais on
and with the big help of a great friend we started to do the wiring.
That still is the part I feel the most uncomfortable with. but I was Lucky to get this helper around
So now the base is finished for a very simple wiring loom
Me very happy
I ran out of shrink tubes, othterwise I could have had the loom almost finished this weekend

found a nice set of snowflake disks for a decent price to match my Melbers wheels
need to make another set of adapters to space these too, but that will work out

Re: GL 1000 cafe fighter
Going to be a sharp looking ride. Just my opinion but the radiator shell is a bit overpowering. Maybe paint it?

Re: GL 1000 cafe fighter
oh yeah, you are right about those details, The radiator cover was on the base bike which I bought a year ago for this project and with the deadline of next week driving it to the Nurburgring in Germany I don't really care about those details...
same as with the mismatching colour on the wheels of the bike or the colours on the sidecar.
Maybe later

Re: GL 1000 cafe fighter
but it will be finished for sure one day, but keep getting drawn into other projects and the latest project started a year ago and made me move to another property with my family.
that is quite a project on it's own, but the best part is that in the end I will end up with an amazing mancave!
