Hey Everyone!
I know it has been a little while since my last post, just dialing everything in for the Goldwing!

Had a little issue with the ignition switch and the clearance from the frame. I originally thought it would fit fine, but it was about a half of a centimeter too close when the female connector was added to the length and it ended up braking the bottom connector of the ignition.

So, what I decided to do was create an extension from the ignition so the female connector would be able to connect further away, thus creating the needed space. Soldered the wires into the male connectors and wrapped the wires to make it look as clean as possible.

Turned out to work perfectly and best of yet, I have CLEARANCE!

Allright; one of the few electronic issues I have had with my motorcycle is the fuel gauge not working. I've ordered a new 7V Temp Gauge Regulator, and hopefully that fixes the issue. The thing that was driving mea little crazy was the wire diagram and making sure I knew where the wires were going. So after a little photoshop and deleting all the "extra" wires, this gave me a clearer view as to what I needed/ what can affect the fuel gauge.

Figured if anyone else needs to see it, here is the image of just the fuel gauge/temp regulator:

I should have some new photos of the bike to post soon! Just got the new front fender on, exhaust newly wrapped and new mufflers on as well. I'm almost done guys! Haha

Hahaha, fair point! And you're totally right! I already know I'll be powder-coating the swing arm in January. It never ends... haha!

I had the swing arm for my '85 1200 Limited Edition media blasted - rebuilding the engine and doing a fresh paint job - 1K epoxy primer, painted with a gloss black Toyota colour, then a protective coat of CERAKOTE MC-5100. Used this product because it is a ceramic type coating, considerably less costly then powder coating (especially up here), and I'm hoping it is more resistant to chips, etc, and easier to clean. Did the same for the front/rear rims, centre stand, front and rear fender undersides, and the final drive as well. Other than the front wheel rim, you would have to get down and personal to view the other pieces unlike your bike where everything is mostly in the open.

Doing the switch housings and brake/clutch MCs as well. The switch housings have turned that grey look. MCs were easy, 1K epoxy primer, 2 coats of Createx high gloss black, then 3 coats of Createx UVLS gloss clear - these are finished and look good. Like working with the water based paints.

The switch housings were harder in that I had to do some testing to get the right paint application. The best performance was clean/degrease and scuff, then 1K epoxy primer, no adhesion promoter. Looking for a matte finish and as such have settled on Autoborne sealer black - matte finish and Createx UVLS matte clear, both water based. The Autoborne sealer should go over the epoxy primer with no issues. Settled on the matte finish because I visited a local bike shop to view the new bike switch housings, all had a matte finish.

Been getting a decent amount of work done over here with electrical. Slowly but surely moving into the "complete" stage. Recently finished the front fender with the powder coated brackets that I custom made, FINALLY got my fuel gauge to finally work with a new 7v regulator, and got the brake light and rear fender mounted.

Its really looking good now and I've spent wayyy too much money on special order bolts, nuts, and washers to keep a clean look all the way through.

I'm about ¾ of the way done with the speedometer and all of that fun electrical work, but it hasn't been too crazy to convert it to a new digital gauge.
