thanks! I'm a ways away from getting them going, still need to figure out manifolds, sell the leftover VW bits that came w/ i that i don't need. Going to order the right jets for it too

Manifold parts are in/en-route. Will have to figure out how to get everything lined up, but at this rate - i might not be installing the stock carbs back!

Keep the stock carbs with the bike (even if you never use them again).
The next owner will be glad that you did.

mock up. Just need to find short emulsion tube holders

Found the jets and emulsion tubes holders that should get me running.
Im sizing everything such that I can remove the stacks and still open the side covers w/o them hitting.
Currently disassembling the carbs down to the bodies so the casting can get a little cleanup and the vapor honed. Need to cut the stainless pipe for the runners and then weld it all up and clean the bores to match nicely.
After I get the carbs mocked up, need to figure out linkage, fuel pump and fuel filter mounting. After all that, likely re-mount the coils and figure out if I can rig up more storage for the shelter...

Haven't fired up the TIG in ages, so this was a bit rusty. Ran out out Ar, but it's progressing!

Need to get the throttle shaft fixed (it's not easy to rotate, so need to check for burrs and whatnot). But manifolds are fixed, carbs are currently being disassembled, vapor honed, cleaned & reassembled w/ new jets.
Stock stacks allow for shin/knee clearance, but don't look as good as the tall boys. But those hit my knee. So i'm going to play around with possible angling them a bit to get some more clearance. Otherwise, i guess i'll have to just run the shorter ones. Sucks being 6'3 sometimes!
Using the short emulsion tube holders and the stacks removed, the stock shelters will open fully w/o hitting anything, which was a goal of mine
Throttle cables are in hand and currently waiting for some fuel fittings so i can get the pump and filter mounted and plumbed. Can't wait to fire!!
