CYBORG(the bike, not the rider) has a modified front fairing with two air collecting tubes producing a 'ram ait' effect … been running just fine at 450,000 miles …

$50 US is about $68CAD. With taxes that would be about $77. But everything always costs more in Canada due to smaller market economics so I'd bet it would cost about $90 out the door at a dealer here.

Thankfully we have aftermarket parts at more reasonable prices (& washable foam filters).

Len, the oiled filter I referenced and what I use is a K&N brand which utilizes an oiled gauze filter media. These were really popular back in the day for motorcross and dirt track racing and you still see them as pods today. A lot of the ads will advertise that they will provide up to 20-25h-power but quite frankly that’s just nonsense, there is nothing more there than a new clean oe paper filter.

They run around $50-$75 I think but am not sure. The good thing about them is that when they get dirty you just wash them & re-oil them, just not excessively, never need to buy another filter.

On the crankcase vent if you haven’t serviced the seperator it’s something that should be on the schedule and plugged into the airbox to keep a negative pressure in the crankcase. On my 76 I did a 380mi one way trip and it was off on the normal mpg’s and once I got there I realized that it went through about 3 quarts of oil as well. It has never ever used oil ! I was imagining all kinds of issues and at some point I found that I had neglected to plug the crankcase vent back into the air box when I was prepping things for the trip.i plugged it back in and it didn’t use a drop of oil on the trip home and the mileage came back as well. It has not used any oil in the years since.

As you can probably tell I am fairly passionate about this and feel it is a necessity, but it is your bike & your money.

Oh and by the way change you belts !!
