Its approximately a 90 minute ride from the Days Inn via the big roads. Plan on spending the day, restaurant on site. You'll explore the culture, building techniques, and even see how their religious beliefs influence the shaker style furniture and cabinetry they developed.

Being hopeful that I can make this one. Wife is one month post surgery and much improved health wise. Biggest problem now is she don't want to be here alone at night. We lost our other dog recently due to kidney failure. Trying to convince her to spend a couple of nights with one our sons. We do have two cats that will have to be looked after but she should be able to handle that. It still maybe end up a last minute go or no go decision. Bike is ready and I am getting some ride time lately to get my body ready. Fingers crossed.

Hope it works out but don't want to leave a scared wife I can understand. Rescues are over flowing with dogs looking for someone to cuddle with ;) ;)

We've been looking at the local rescue ads but so far have not visited any. The adoption fees have gone through the roof like everything else. The last one we got was $85 about 12 years ago. Adoption fees, vet visits, shots, food etc all have to be considered while looking. Pet ownership is no longer affordable for many people.

Yea I know. We have had to raise our fee to 350 and that does not even touch what we have in each dog. Food bill alone is about 1500 a month. So far this year there have been 3 adoptions I think. If you are really interested many rescues now use petfinder https://www.petfinder.com/ you can put in your zip code and search for specific breeds etc etc.. We currently have 16 listed on there.
