Re: Clutch Chatter
Looking forward to your posts. Mine has 57000 and is clattering a but at idle. It might be slipping a little under heavy load too. Better bleed it and keep an eye on it.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

Re: Clutch Chatter
Four or five rivets escaped and jammed between friction plates.
(Valkyrie)
Ordered frictions from Randakk and received EBC cork plates. I believe
stockers were Kevlar. Whatever, renewed the clutch. Not too bad with
some improvisation and swearing. A HD oil filter wrench with a view hole
made the repair possible. Another mechanical adventure under
my belt. Bought a stubby Milwaukee impact driver as a reward.

Re: Clutch Chatter
Yes, sad that Honda kept that damper plate all the way up into the 1500's.

Re: Clutch Chatter
What I wonder about is the placement of the damper plate. The GL 1000 has it in the middle of the clutch stack while
my Valkyrie has it at the end.

Re: Clutch Chatter
As per the manuals, different placement between the 2 bikes. Just wondering why.
Less stress on damper plate with different placement in stack?
Hmmm.

Re: Clutch Chatter
Maybe they thought it would do less damage when it came apart if it was at the end.

Re: Clutch Chatter
Another mystery, at least for me. Two different part numbers for the Valk & Gold Wing damper plates.
It seems the Valk plate has teeth on both sides while the Wing is toothed on one.
22322-MZ0-000 & 22322-371-020
Just sayin'.....
